The Social Scoop ⤵️
👯♀️ Instagram is working on the ability to create Reels visible only to Close Friends
When you go to post your Reel, you’ll be met with the option of sharing to “Everyone” or “Close Friends”
Close Friends can see each other’s usernames when they like or comment on your Reel.
🤝 Instagram continues to work on Group Profiles (aka Communities)
Groups can be public or private.
As a member of a group, you can share posts and Stories directly to the group profile, instead of your personal profile.
Anyone can see what you share in a public group profile.
Admins can delete the group profile or anything a member shares to it.
💻 Instagram is working on the ability to browse the history of posts you’ve seen in the feed
In the space where you’d find your “following” and “favorites” feeds, you’ll also be able to see “Browsing History”
🙄 Instagram is working on IG Candid Challenges
This feature is very clearly inspired by the Be Real app. At different times during the day, get a notification to capture and share a photo in 2 minutes.
You can only use the Dual Camera tool where it shoots a photo through both the front + back camera at the same time.
📍 TikTok Tests a New “Nearby” Content Feed
As it sounds, TikTok’s Nearby feed displays content posted by users in your current location.
It could be helpful when looking for things to do or recommendations for example restaurants or hiking trails nearby.
