Here’s what we covered in this episode:

  • Instagram is testing the ability to move around things on your profile grid in a drag-and-drop style.

    • This got me thinking about Instagram maybe copying the “pinned” feature that TikTok has. Wouldn’t it be cool to offer that as an add-on for brands?

  • Instagram is working on a new feature for Reels — Importing audio from any video.

    • Video must be at least 5 seconds long

    • I already have this feature, so it is out to some accounts already.

  • TikTok is working on a new option called “Videos” — You’ll be able to add one or more videos in the description of the video that you publish.

  • Instagram is working on a new sticker to be found in the “Sticker” section on Stories. It’s a small white text bubble-style circle with an emoji inside so that people can click on it and story react without having to do the swipe up emoji reaction.

  • SocialMediaToday survey reveals 43% of people polled said that LinkedIn is the platform that they’ll be working on more in 2022

    • LinkedIn for Creators is launching.

    • LinkedIn Launches Test of Audio Rooms

    • Twitter launches audio room called “Spaces”

  • YouTube launches Media Kit addition within YT studio — will help creators better fromulate their channels pitch for potential ad partners in the app

    • Will provide a shareable summary of your channel audience and viewer stats, including subscribers, unique viewers, average watch time per clip

    • Channel managers will also be able to select four featured videos to showcase in the display, while the listing will also highlight previous paid partnerships for additional reference.

  • With the chronological feed, expect to lose followers. So many accounts you haven’t seen in a while and now you may realize you don’t want to follow that brand any longer.
