💬 Instagram is testing social “Channels”
We talked about this in a previous episode, but we finally have more information: Social “Channels” seem to the be Instagram equivalent of FB Groups.
“Create a social channel that anyone can join to connect over shared interests.”
Your “Channel” will live in it’s own tab in your DM section. You’ll have “Primary”, “General”, “Channels”, and “Requests”
You can share a Story Sticker to get people to join your “Channel”
It looks like the max capacity for a “Channel” is 250 people
🏷 YouTube is testing product tags for Shorts
If you’re posting on Shorts, you may soon have the ability to dip into another form of monetization in the app.
YouTube has begun a pilot program with selected creators which will see product tags displayed within Shorts. Users will be able to see the tags and shop directly in the app.
YouTube will take an undisclosed cut of the sale.
Creators will receive a commission on the products that they sell.
