How to Handle 3 Popular Creator Negotiation Situations

If you got into this industry because you love to create and now that you want to monetize your online presence, and now you’re struggling to navigate the business side of it all, you are not alone.

Brands might be asking you for your rates and coming to you with offers and you don’t want to miss out on money by going with the first offer, but you’re also afraid to negotiate too high and scare brands away.

It can be a lot to figure out on your own because you want to be able to secure brand deals with confidence and show them that you’re serious about your business as a creator and have a lot of value to offer, but you just don’t know how to handle negotiating these deals.

Today I’m sharing three different common creator negotiation situations that if you haven’t found yourself in already, you will eventually, and how you can handle them so you don’t miss out on your well-deserved money.

🎥 Meta launches new updates for Facebook and Instagram creation

  • There are new text fonts for Reels (unclear if they’ll be for stories as well)

  • They are also testing the ability to add clips with audio to Reels with the GIF “Clip Hub”

    • This will allow you to add popular memes into your photos and videos

  • They’re updating the drafts process by letting you preview your drafts, rename them, and schedule them in advance

🗂 Instagram is getting rid of Guides on December 15

  • They’ll be converted to collections and people won’t be able to see your guides

  • You can download your guides from the Accounts Center until March 14

💬 Instagram is working on the ability to add comments or “hype” to Stories

  • It will be visible to anyone who views your story and you can turn it off in Settings.

🌌 Instagram is working on “Your Space”

  • Only people who you add can see it

  • It will be a private space within your public profile where you can have a bio and profile photo that’s different from your public profile.

  • You’ll be able to post photos, Reels, and stories that will only be visible to the people that are added to this space

  • My question: Why not just have a separate profile at this point?
