📱 Adam Mosseri says that follower count is less important than view and like counts when it comes to an account’s relevance

  • 6 days ago he posted to Threads: “Follower counts matter less than view and like counts. I understand why people focus so much on follower counts; they're prominent and they're easy to find. But if you actually want to get a sense for how relevant an account is, look at their how many likes they get per post and how many views per reel instead.”

🔔 Instagram has added a new sticker for creators, “Notify”, which provides another way to inform their audience when they post

  • Creators will be able to prompt their audience to set a reminder to ensure they see their upcoming posts.

  • When the viewer clicks on the sticker, they’ll have a choice of which elements they get notifications about.

💵 Meta is testing a bonus program for Threads creators

  • Eligible creators will be able to earn money based on the “performance” of posts or the “number of posts” shared.

  • Threads posts have to have at least 2,500 eligible views.

  • It is currently an invite-only initiative.

  • “If you are invited, you will receive a pop-up notification and an invite that appears in your Professional Dashboard on the Instagram app […] Once the Threads bonus becomes available to you, you’ll need to set up bonuses on Instagram before the eligibility expires. Make sure you set up a public Threads profile.”

  • IG also notes that the details of the bonus program “may vary by participant”.

🏆 Instagram is working on a new feature in Channels called “Challenges”

  • You’ll be able to create a contest for members to submit photos and win prizes. You choose winners once the challenge ends.

  • Members will be able to react, share, and report entries.

  • Anyone can share challenges and entries in their stories, messages, and across other apps.
