📱 A ‘Following feed on option on Instagram unlikely

  • Instagram chief Adam Mosseri said that while they have tested and considered it, they found that users were engaging with content less and were overall less satisfied with their experience.

  • While many people claim that they want a ‘Following’ feed, the data shows that people spend more time on the app when they are shown content from people they don’t follow in addition to those they do.

📈 TikTok is showing a ‘trending search topics’ on profile pages

  • This is a way to invite creators to create videos based on trending searches.

⏰ YouTube shorts will soon be able to be 3 minutes long

  • Starting on October 15, users will be able to upload Shorts that are up to 3 minutes long.

📝 Users will be able to edit their Threads for up to 15 minutes after they are posted

🤓 Instagram released a guide to best practices as a creator

  • It is located within the app and gives guidance on best practices, personalized tips, and educational Reels.
