A Breakdown of My Income Streams (And How I Got Them)

As a content creator, the topic of money can seem taboo. It seems like no one wants to share how much they make and talk openly about the different ways they make money.

After all, you should have multiple sources of income when you’re a creator because you can’t just depend on consistently landing brand deals that can cover your expenses.

But I am not one to gatekeep. Because when you’re starting as a creator, you may not know how to diversify your income and what a realistic breakdown of revenue streams looks like.

Last month my income came from SIX different sources. And spoiler alert, brand partnerships were actually my fourth highest income stream.

Today, I’m sharing a breakdown of all of my income streams from last month and how I got each of these opportunities.

  • They’re hoping to make it easier to connect over where you’re spending time to get inspiration for new places to visit.

👯‍♀️ Instagram is launching Close Friends feed posts

  • It will be similar to how Close Friends works for Stories, so users can decide which audience sees their updates when they post to their feed: Everyone or Close Friends.

💬 TikTok is looking to focus on improving the DM experience in order to keep engagement within the app

  • They’re concerned that so many people are sharing TikTok videos on other social media and messaging apps and want to keep people on their app instead.

📱 Instagram is working on a feature called “Hall Pass”

  • It allows you to post Stories for hall pass members only.

  • It is unclear exactly what this feature is and how it’s different from Close Friends
