  • The big changes are:

    • A new input to ranking that will give smaller creators more distribution

    • Replacing reposts with original content in recommendations

    • Adding labels to reposted content, linking to the original creator

    • Removing content aggregators from recommendations

  • All eligible content will be shown to a small audience that they think will enjoy it and as audiences engage with it, it will be shown to a wider audience.

🤳 Instagram is experimenting with a new feature that would let users go live in broadcast channels for subscribers only

📸 TikTok is emphasizing photos posted to the app

  • There is a new navigation tab that is made up of only photo carousels.

🎵 TikTok and UMG signed a new licensing agreement

  • UMG music will return to the app within a week or two.

  • Any videos that were previously muted will be unmuted.
